Getting ready to head to our 7 pm Good Friday service, but wanted to invite you to one of our three Easter services this Sunday, especially if you don’t already have a church family you’re connected to. 8, 9:30, and 11 am. We are doing our best to create a space that exalts Jesus as Lord and Savior and promotes fellowship with God through the power of the Holy Spirit as our number one purpose in life. I spent some time yesterday finalizing the footnot

I spent some time yesterday finalizing the footnotes for some of the powerful quotes I use in my upcoming worship leadership book, SPARK! (Yes, I even quote my own book lol. But I don’t imagine it to be worthy to be in the company with these others.)

After 2 1/2 years of work, SPARK is almost complete—99.9%. I am beyond excited to release it in the coming weeks. It is the culmination of all the kingdom strategies and practices I have learned and implemented as a leader of worship and as a servant to God’s Church over the last 25 years. I believe it will serve as a powerful resource to help worship leaders, musicians, and church leaders to cultivate/perpetuate the culture of the Kingdom in the Church once again.

It’s time that we take another look at the ways in which we our “doing church” to make sure we are actually building the Kingdom that Jesus died to birth and not some other kingdom that we’ve created through years of following man’s traditions.

SPARK is not a slight against pastors and church leaders. It is a simple recognition of the fact that our natural tendency is to follow our own ways, build our own kingdoms, and gradually steer away from the God’s intended purposes. We must continually reevaluate our strategies and ideologies to be sure that we are on the right path. If we are willing to take another look, the Spirit of God will give us strength to see where we may have gone wrong and empower us to redirect our efforts where necessary.

My prayer is that God will again give us eyes to see and ears to hear in these dark and desperate times. We all know what Matthew 24 says, and we must stay awake and alert if we are to avoid being a part of the “many” in the Church who will fall away.

“And MANY will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And MANY false prophets will appear and will deceive MANY people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of MANY will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Matthew‬ ‭24:10-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Let us be those Kingdom leaders who fight to stay true to the ways of God for his people in these times. #spark #newbook #cultivatingthekingdom

My heart still burns for these incredible monthly worship/prayer gatherings we used to have in Nashville, where people from all over the city would come together to pray and seek the Lord. What an honor it was to lead and host Worship City Praise! There are still so many seeds that were planted that are bearing fruit and that are going to bear fruit. Let us continue to gather together in cities around the world to humble ourselves, pray, seek God‘s face, and turn from our wicked and selfish ways.
